Why do people believe there was a surplus during Clinton Years?
morris asked:
Clinton left office with a larger federal debt than when he started. There was only a brief period when revenues exeeded expenses, and the government immediently increased spending. No surplus was every used to reduce the federal debt. The debt continued to grow. Just like every president in the last 25 years. The federal debt was never reduced under Clinton. Both parties have been proven to be budget busters.

Obama supporters never let facts interfere with their arguments.
Because liberal media knows that if you repeat a lie long enough it becomes the truth.
Figures don’t lie but liars can figure.
The Clinton administration balanced the budget, no easy task, and used Pay as You Go to keep the debts way down. Interest may have added to he federal debt. If Bush would have stuck with the program, we would have been in great shape financially. I can’t blame him entirely because he had 911 and two wars. The House should have put on a 2% surtax to pay for the war instead of increasing our debt from billions to trillions.
the economy was flourished, not like Bush presidency.
that is why we are supporting senator Obama because the economy will also florished and not have to spend 10 billion per month on the Iraq war.
Clinton left not only surplus funds but also a balanced budget. When Georgie became President, he blew the surplus and borrowed, and borrowed, and borrowed some more. Now we a trillion debt. Now, Republicans, of course, will try to dispute this. But what they cannot dispute is the 12 billions a month to Iraq, the miserable economy, gas prices, mortgage meltdown, and trillions in debt.
i dont need a bunch of numbers to know that times were better when Bill was in office. period.
Because there was a surplus.
If the Clinton’s did leave with a surplus,Clinton’s didn’t help Gore win seat to continue the job!NAFTA was in place by Clinton’s and gave away jobs and business to foreign countries!Clinton’s also made 110 million dollars after leaving office! How? Very mysterious situation!
Obama 2008!
Ebony & Ivory President!
people believe there was a surplus, because the talking heads of the democratic party kept repeating it.
they lie through their teeth.
This is proven very easy! the Federal Reserve Act passed by the progressive liberals.
turned over our .money system to the ferderal reserve system, which is 13 private banking cartel. which is treason against the American people by their government.
in the federal reserve act, the american people can never pay off the princple of the debt only the interest and it has to be paid in gold not dollars!
all you have to do is read their laws!
No argument here. There was a surplus in fiscal budget but nothing to pay of the sustained debt.
Personally, I have no problem -w- debt. As a percentage of GDP it is manageable. They say it’s mortgaging our childrens future. We’ll, has not stopped people everywhere from mortgages. Are mortgages bad if you live in improved conditions while you pay for them. Or should you let things go to hell and let them deal with it as they are able.
Exactly. It is just another ‘fact’ media has convinced people is a fact. We put way too much faith in media for information and assume that if it is in print, it must be true.
You’re speaking in blacks and whites, still, though. Under Clinton, his first few years saw deficits, but in his last few, we had surpluses, especially around 2000. But as soon as Bush took office, our deficit increased heavily, and it’s definitely safe to say that the deficit under Clinton was MUCH less than the deficit under Bush. MUCH more significant problem. Both parties can be “budget busters,” but the numbers still say that Clinton’s administration consisted of more responsible fiscal spenders.
Who handled the economy better Clinton or Bush? Go figure.
Okay, read this very slowly since you apparently have a problem comprehending what you read and hear.
Read the history of the Clinton years. Stop listening to Republican propaganda. They speak you parrot. They say “shit” you squat and start straining. What is wrong with that picture?
