What are Financial Goals?
What our financial goals? Financial goals are actually quite simple. There’s no reason to make it more complicated than it really is. Here, we will discuss financial goals simply, quickly, and easily. Let’s get started.
We already said that financial goals are very simple. What is a financial goal? It is the goal you have to buy something or spend money on something in the future. Or it could be to pay off the debt, which is basically buying something you already spent money on.
There is no specific rule for how long a financial goal can be for. It can be for a few weeks, a few months, a few years, or 20 or more years.the idea is, the you want to complete this goal within that time period.
This is still confusing you? This shouldn’t be confusing at all. Here are some examples of some very common financial goals that a lot of people have often. Saving for your kids college in the future, buying a house, buying a new car, paying off any kind of debt including credit card debt, student loans, or other debt, setting up and saving for retirement plan, the list goes on. You could have these kind of goals or you could have completely different types of goals?
Make your financial goals as reasonable as possible. Don’t make anything as outrageous and impossible to make. For example, don’t expect to be able to buy $100,000 car in two years, if you only make $30,000 a year. This is just not reasonable and you will not be able to do it unless you make money in some other sort of way.
How much time are you giving yourself to save for this goal? If you need it too soon, you will not be able to save for. Again, you need to be reasonable. Be very careful what you do. You need to take everything into consideration.
You know what a financial goal is, so now you need to make your financial goals. It could be something that we have discussed here, or could be something entirely different. Just make sure it’s something you actually need to save for, don’t waste time saving for something you don’t really need.
