Tips on purchasing or renting a forklift
Where you buy a new forklift, used forklift or rent a forklift is completely dependant on your companies situation and budget. You must carefully consider your needs as a company before rushing into any old decision on a forklift. Many companies have different needs and specifications and reasons as to why they are looking for a forklift.
If your company is small on budget you will be more likely to decide to go down the used forklift root, because of the lower price barrier, although you must bear in mind that used forklifts may cost more in the long run with repairs and maintenance. But granted, they will cost a considerable amount less than buying a brand new one.
There is usually longer warranties on newer models, but the initial outlay may be too expensive for some companies to afford so a used one could be the only option. Another way to cut initial costs would be to rent one of them.
When purchasing a forklift you must be aware of the safety regulations of your building and company and make sure that it will comply with the safety regulations and law. Not doing so could result in fines and worse still, accidents at work. You must have an employee with a forklift licence to drive it also.
Sometimes companies think they need another piece of equipment to do a certain job but forklifts can be much more than just forklifts, with the available attachments available for them you can turn them into pretty much anything you please including a crane. Do some research and take a look before buying another piece of equipment for your new vehicle.
As well as just a forklift, it can be made into almost any tool for the warehouse with the use of attachments. You can also save the fuel that you use with your forklifts by using truck mounted ones. This can really save your company a lot of money, as well as training costs, by not having to buy different trucks. The one truck with different attachments can serve most purposes in a warehouse.
