The road to health
With just a little commitment the road to good health can be a smooth journey. I will give you ways to avoid roadblocks and shortcuts to get you there faster. You may want to achieve good health, but just need a little push down the right road.
The first thing I tell people is to write down all your bad habits, smoking, drinking, laziness, nightly ice cream or eating junk food and sodas. Because recognizing the habit is the first step to breaking a habit. Then pick one or 2 at a time to work on.
One very important thing to keep in mind to ward off getting discouraged is that it takes about six months of consistent commitment to create a new habit or change an old one. This is why you must me so patient.
Ok, so now let’s talk about healthy habits. Making an effort to eat healthier is a conscious effort of awareness. Just becoming aware of what you eat and how it processes and effects your body and knowing what you need to eat is key to eating better.
Making a vow to get more exercise is a big step down the path of good health. Experts recommend getting at least 30 minutes of exercise at a minimum of 3 times a week. You can make small improvements however to make a difference. Such as parking further at the grocery store and taking the stairs.
One part of the health road that can make all the other parts bumpy, that many do not think about is stress and anxiety. We all face it from time to time. How we deal with it makes a huge difference in our lives.
One good way to deal with stress is to relax now and then. Everyone should take about 30 minutes out of there day to relax, no matter what kind of day you are having. Take a peaceful walk, bubble bath or try meditation.
Everyone should have a means of relieving the daily stressors. Perhaps, the use of a stress ball, sports or crafting. Learning to relax is essential to good health. Too much stress can harm our immune systems.
