The Premium Fuel To Succeed

Its not just an option or a sidelight for a leader to find a mentor and be a mentor, finding and being a mentor is an essential component of peak performance.

When I attended a conference last year, a speaker talked on Relationships that made a big difference in my own life.

He said: “You can greatly influence your life’s flight path by Relationships, some of them are lifelong and some seasonal. The premium fuel to succeed in life is the result of working hard to enter and develop premium lifelong relationships. Find inspiring people by being intentional about it; If you want to reach the next level, the best thing to do is to find someone who is already there. Because of your association with these premium people your life will also improve.

Relationships are best built when you can be the giver and not just take from it; Don’t just keep taking from the premium people around you, but instead look for ways to add value to their lives too.

There are flaws in high level people too, so expect them. Don’t just look for the perfect person to be mentored from. High level people may sometimes fail to meet your expectations because they too have idiosyncrasies and faults just like anyone else. High level people are successful because they succeeded in spite of their faults and not by absence of them. When you discover the faults in your hero, you must be encouraged because you can also become a high level person despite your faults”

A mentor can be found in a growing upline who has a vested interest in your success. To build a lifelong relationship you must work hard to establish trust. Communicate with them regularly because the bed rock of any relationship is communication. Always leave more behind that you take because it adds value to your relationship.

Ask these questions to yourself:

1. Do you have someone in your life as a mentor (a trusted coach)?

2. If not, why not? What has stopped you from establishing a relationship?

3. Do you stay in communication with your mentor and ask questions to find the answers? Every question has an answer.

4. Has a master mind alliance been established to find solutions to your problems?

5. Is there an accountability relationship with you and your mentor?

6. Are you being honest with your mentor or, do you embellish or twist your real situation to get the answer you are looking for?

All the goals you set in life we pray and hope that you achieve them. Life is not a marathon it is like the lemon race where you don’t win the race if the lemon falls off the spoon. If you lose the lemons – Relationships, Health, Integrity, Family, Spiritual, Financial, Character, etc., you are not going to happy winning the race of life.
