Gold Bugs

Gold has played a major role in many civilizations which have lived on earth. Its beauty and divine purity was important for some of them, while others used it for its commercial value. It has still remained a general idea that gold jewels are lovely and precious, bullion coins are the pride and joy of every numismatist and others simply invest in it.

The occult world was often associated with this precious metal. In the popular culture of many countries there are still legends about unnatural blue cold flames burning in the night above places where treasures were hidden. These connections are often made in literature when mysteries or alchemy is involved. Goethe’s Faust or Edgar Allan Poe’s The Gold Bug, have gold as a secondary character. In the latter the conflict is triggered by a person being bitten by a gold scarab-like insect. All along the action we are lead to believe that this event has opened the gate towards supernatural, while in the end we are amazed to discover that it was all just a detective story resulting in finding a hidden pirate treasure.

In real life the term gold bug has a pejorative meaning. It is the common name associated with persons bullish on buying gold. For them gold is the ultimate asset, which keeps your savings safe. Although the value of this metal has known ups and downs in its history, being quite closely connected with the rest of the economical fluctuations, these people hope that owning it is the best solution for protecting their fortune. In 1896 a group of political supporters who adorned themselves with various gold accessories, were called gold bugs, and that is when the term began spreading.

Now it has also become the name financial analysts who strongly advise gold investments, are called. The pejorative meaning is the consequence of several arguments which can contradict their point of view. The general idea has still remained that it is good to own gold, but its value changes in time.

Gold jewels or bullion coin collections are valuable assets in the present world. There are still people whose object of desire has remained the precious metal and who would do anything, even go treasure hunting for it.

Professionals can tell you how buying gold can help you in times of recession.
