That is especially important when that person is starting a new business. Not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur. What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur?

An entrepreneur is, according to definition, someone who organizes and manages a business venture with a high degree of initiative and risk associated with its operation. Certain traits are going to characterize an entrepreneur, and below are a few which I believe are very important to point out.

1. Intelligent and creative – During the course of the average business day, a certain number of problems will arise which the entrepreneur is going to have to overcome with creative and intelligent solutions.

Decisive – Because of the fast pace of society and the amount of information that everyone has access to, it can become quite overwhelming to make quick business decisions. However, it is very important that the entrepreneur can do that without getting mired in all of the unimportant details.

3. Honest – I believe that this is essential, but not all entrepreneurs are honest because not all people are honest; however, it is important to be an honest businessman / woman and the willingness to meet all of the customers’ expectations to the best of his ability.

4. Risk taker – Most people play it safe and stay with their jobs because of the predictability of it. An entrepreneur needs to be able to operate with a certain level of risk if he / she is going to be successful.

5. Passion and determination – In order to become a successful entrepreneur, it is important that someone have passion and determination. Because it is that passion and determination which is going to help to fuel the dream so that dream may become a reality.

Above is only a few of the many characteristics which the average entrepreneur possesses. I believe that they are a few of the most important though. If someone possesses only the above, then I think that he/she has an excellent chance of becoming a successful entrepreneur.
