Debt garnishing question.

anthony asked:

Is there any thing I can do after my creditor already garnished my paycheck? I can’t keep up with the payment because I don’t make enough money. Can any lawyer help me to nogotaite with the collection agency to possibly settle my debt in reduced amount?

Your best bet is to try to negotiate. However, the creditor may be less willing to negotiate since they have gone to the expense and trouble to pursue legal action for the garnishment. Since they have the garnishment, they will probably only agree to reduced payments, but not balance.

you can do 3 things

These three will stop the garnishment as soon as you file

1.bankruptcy chapter 7

2.wage earner plan

3.injunctive relief
